“Abounding In Thanksgiving”

Thursday, November, 2, 2017 | 7:01 AM | by June
It is my prayer that genuine thanksgiving flowing out of my heart through my mouth about a faithful, amazing, generous, loving, merciful, gracious, creative God will build up those that God brings in to my life each day. To Him be honor and glory.

“Super Power”

Saturday, September, 30, 2017 | 12:09 PM | by June
The Reformation has recaptured the truth. Salvation BY GRACE ALONE. This powerful truth enables us to live in that GRACE and walk and speak in power. This is truly a supernatural and Godly power.

“Battle Belongs to the Lord”

Thursday, August, 31, 2017 | 4:49 PM | by June
The horse is made ready for the day of the battle. But the battle belongs to the Lord. Fall brings many activities to our schedules. Our focus remains on the mission that the Lord has laid out for us at First Lutheran Church.

Summer is Ending

Friday, August, 4, 2017 | 6:12 AM | by June
Although we still have a few weeks left, summer is quickly coming to a close. It seems that every year, the pace of the world calls for the end of summer a bit earlier than the year before. When I was growing up, it was unheard of for any school to start before Labor Day. I began to think to myself, what would it look like if this summer season were to end well.

“God Goes Where You Go!”

Sunday, July, 9, 2017 | 7:31 AM | by June
How comforting it is to know that wherever we go, God is there with us. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations and we wonder if God is paying attention. We may feel so alone and even depressed. God is with us. He is working out the problems, and we don't even realize it.

The Green Season

Friday, June, 9, 2017 | 6:03 AM | by June
God is ALL IN as he commits to His Mission. It is not a hobby for Him. The Good News of the Gospel cannot be disconnected from His Mission. He is serious about it. He invites us to participate. I am humbled by the invitation.

May & Mission

Thursday, May, 4, 2017 | 7:28 AM | by June
Mission focused members take the next step to determine their "calling". We explore the talents that God has given and determine the best way to use these gifts to plant the seeds of faith.

Springing to Life

Saturday, April, 1, 2017 | 7:41 AM | by June
Because Jesus both died and rose again, we will be raised like Him. 1 Corinthians 15:20 says, "But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." The word "firstfruits" speaks of a sampling, a foretaste, a glimpse. Jesus is the firstfruit.

A New Season

Friday, March, 3, 2017 | 11:59 AM | by June
We are on an adventure. It is an adventure of mission. It is God’s mission. He chooses us to be a partner. This is the most exciting, most compelling, most significant part of our lives.

“Let Your Light Shine”

Tuesday, February, 7, 2017 | 5:45 PM | by June
We feel like we are in the dark when we have no idea where things are headed. As I look out into the world, engage in conversation, observe the words and actions of the people around me, I see so many looking for something . . . looking for light. Jesus is what is really needed.

Sunday, January, 1, 2017 | 12:58 PM | by June
God uses us to build his kingdom. He equips us through our faith to sow the seeds, to reap the harvest. Glory to God!

Fishing Nets

Tuesday, November, 1, 2016 | 5:48 AM | by June
Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men. At your word Lord, I will let down the net. I know that Jesus loves us and He is leading us.

Lord We Seek You

Saturday, October, 1, 2016 | 7:52 AM | by June
A growing polarization is driving people to opposing viewpoints on important issues. How do we as Christians respond? Do we focus on Christ?

A Day to Remember--Who's in Charge

Saturday, September, 10, 2016 | 11:37 AM | by June
9/11, A day to remember! How do we respond when our lives seemly are destroyed? How do we cope with a pain that goes beyond description, that impacts so many lives? When our lives are in turmoil, how do we deal with the terror and uncertainty?

An Invitation from Jesus

Monday, August, 1, 2016 | 5:55 PM | by June
It is times when you feel like you are sinking, that you need to stay immersed in the Word of God. We can see Jesus. We can hear our Lord's comfort. We see grace and mercy.

Friday, July, 1, 2016 | 4:49 AM | by June
Our Lord has designed us with a flow and pattern to our life – a time for work, and a time for rest. And by rest, I mean not only physical rest (which includes getting plenty of peaceful sleep, trusting in the gracious care of our Heavenly Father but a renewing and truly resting time by being in the presence of our Lord.

“Powered By The Holy Spirit - Abounding in Hope”

Thursday, June, 2, 2016 | 5:30 PM | by June
There is a sense of excitement and expectation at First Lutheran church. It is my hope that we will continue to have our eyes fixed on Jesus. We desire His leading. It is by His victory on the cross that the God of hope fills us with joy and peace of believing. It is in the POWER OF THE SPIRIT that will continue to allow us to have the privilege of serving Him in mission and ABOUND IN HOPE as we see His hand in our personal lives and in the life of our family here at First Lutheran.

Who Do you Remember?

Sunday, May, 1, 2016 | 8:31 PM | by June
Who do you think of during the month of May? The Ascension of our Lord marks the return of Jesus to His Father. Mother's Day, the Day of Pentecost, Trinity Sunday and finally Memorial Day--a lot to remember in one month. We remember with grateful hearts the gifts we receive both spiritually and earthly.

God Showed Up!

Monday, April, 4, 2016 | 7:49 PM | by June
Easter approached and we held our breath in anticipation of the miracle we knew, to rejoice again that Christ has risen. We stepped forward, comfortable that God would bless us and our worship of the risen Savior, Christ the Messiah, the promised One! And we were profoundly blessed!

In Season

Tuesday, March, 8, 2016 | 3:57 PM | by June
I am again overwhelmingly grateful that God chooses the re-engaging, uncomfortable, outward action of sending His Son to this world to redeem me.

Perfect Love

Wednesday, February, 3, 2016 | 2:55 AM | by June
Perfect love, the love of Christ is pure, unconditional--has anyone ever experienced giving that kind of love? we let ourselves get into the way and that causes us to fail from time to time from this 1 Corinthians 13 kind of love. But then, the Holy Spirit reminded me that YES, I have experienced this kind of love from my Heavenly Father.

IN the Name of Jesus  THOUGHTS OF A NEW YEAR - 2016

Friday, January, 1, 2016 | 5:52 PM | by June
I look forward to see what God will do. As we move into the new year, I am sensing the Holy Spirit through the Word to continue to "trust the Lord" fully. I have been drawn to these Scriptures that speak of the naming of Jesus and the assurance, strength, glory, power, and supremacy of that name. Our God is SO good. His promise is that His grace will cover every need for this coming year. He will keep His promise.

Gift Wrapping

Tuesday, December, 1, 2015 | 5:44 PM | by June
Every time you use your own words and story to share the Gospel, you are wrapping God’s gift. Every time that your actions are a testimony of God’s love, you are wrapping God’s gift.

I Believe in God the Father

Sunday, November, 1, 2015 | 8:31 AM | by June
We want to be in control, however God reminds us that we can trust god in all things: trust His ability; trust His provision; trust His patience. Be led through the Word to God's assurance.

Autumn Impressions

Thursday, October, 1, 2015 | 5:37 AM | by June
Autumn is a great time for a renewed commitment to our Lord. He remains faithful to you. His promises are still valid. He still has a plan and purpose for your life.

Marked With God’s Sign of Love

Saturday, February, 28, 2015 | 12:58 PM | by June
“according to His steadfast love,” God does “remember us.” We are indeed marked with God’s sign of Love - His beautiful, undeserved grace showered upon us in Jesus Christ our Lord.

I Love You, Jesus

Sunday, February, 1, 2015 | 6:45 AM | by June
Love is an active, working, principle, a motive power. Love is an action word. God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son. Thank you Jesus, I love you, Jesus!

Sunday, January, 11, 2015 | 5:23 PM | by June
As we are buried with Christ through our Baptism into death, and just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Get the Door!

Monday, December, 1, 2014 | 6:55 AM | by June
We eagerly wait and watch for the EXPECTED! We hear our Lord’s promise. We anticipate the guest. … Unexpected? No, not this guest - for He will come again, as he promised! His knock? It is for you and me!

Dealing with discouragement? Motivation wanes. Desire is distant. Responsibilities are depressing. It may be your anvil time.

The Journey to the Pinnacle

Saturday, September, 13, 2014 | 9:10 PM | by June
Worship is where God is present in both Word and Sacrament. Where Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life--where love and mercy abound.

"But Only Say the Word..."

Monday, June, 30, 2014 | 1:00 PM | by June
Jesus healed the centurion's servant by saying the word. It is a magnificent story of proper authority and having faith in the source of authority (Jesus).

Spring Water

Sunday, June, 22, 2014 | 6:06 PM | by June
Water that refreshes, restores and preserves us just as Jesus gives us water that refreshes our spiritual lives, preserving us though out eternity. Water that bubbles over our souls to share with others.
