Acts 4:33 (ESV) And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the res-urrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
As I was thinking about writing this newsletter article, I came across this verse and it lit up my imagination.
If you were to walk into a drug store, a discount store, craft store, even some of the grocery stores, you would see the Halloween section. Since we are preparing for our Halloween Outreach event, I have taken a moment to scan some of the items being offered to enhance Halloween celebrations of all kinds.
Two similar advertising posters at different stores got me to thinking. One said, “What is your super-power.” The other said, “What super-power would you choose.” As you can imagine, they were hyping the super-hero costumes and supplies.
I would like to pose those questions for your consideration. Think about it for a bit. As I read the Acts 4:33 verse from above, I came to a conclusion on my answer. My mind made an immediate jump to an event about 500 years ago and the nailing of the 95 Thesis to a church door that made a proclamation to the whole community and created a wave throughout the rest of the world and even today has tremendous influence. It was the event of the Lutheran Reformation.
Look at the verse again.
The power and the grace of the early church was recaptured as the process took place. I want to cheer you on as you, with GREAT POWER, give your testimony to the life, suffering, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. I want to assure you that GREAT GRACE is upon you.
The Reformation has recaptured the truth. Salvation BY GRACE ALONE. This powerful truth enables us to live in that GRACE and walk and speak in power. This is truly a supernatural and Godly power.
This is the kind of power that our Father through Jesus has given to you and to me. If I had the power to choose, this would be my choice.
Glory to God that in His love this is His free give to us.
God be praised!
