“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
-- 1 Peter 5:4
Over the period of the past couple of weeks, the world is being continually informed of new updates concerning COVID 19. It would be nearly impossible to not hear of the latest information even if we tried. If you turn on the TV, listen to the radio, have a conversation with family, co-worker, neighbor, get a piece of junk mail in your mailbox, or read the newspaper (all old school stuff), or if you check your email, Facebook account, go to nearly any of your bookmarked pages in your favorite web browser, have notifications turned on in your smart phone settings, or check your text messages or voicemail you WILL be updated.
We get news on the most up to date number of infected and number of deaths. That number is broken down into countries, states, counties and even communities. We also get updates on the newest guidelines and mandates. We get helpful hints to navigate through the changing environment. We have all had our daily and weekly routines continually disrupted. Really . . . it seems that there is no real way to plan much ahead.
We take the day moment by moment.
A lot of people are getting worn out and frustrated. Everyone seems to be on edge. Most people are trying to put their best foot forward and find solutions, but still . . . .
Numbers 23:19 “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”
Psalm 110:4a “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind.”
Malachi 3:6 “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.”
Exodus 34:6 “The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”
Psalm 31:5 “Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.”
Psalm 86:15 “But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”
Psalm 111:7 “The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.”
Psalm 119:90 “Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.”
Isaiah 25:1 “O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.”
Matthew 28:20 “...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Our God does not change. He is faithful. His love, mercy, grace, peace, wisdom, guidance, joy will always be poured out to us even when we dwell in a changing, evil environment. He will be with you Always.
The death and resurrection of Jesus proves it.
God Be Praised!
